No, I am not moving. That has become my new favorite quote. In fact, it is only a matter of time before we all start using it.
For those who are not up to speed, here is the background:
“I’m going to take my talents to South Beach and join the Miami Heat.”
With those simple, and humorous, words LeBron James made “The Decision” and changed the landscape of the NBA. The two-time NBA MVP ended weeks of speculation in sports circles. It also ended the courtship from many big basketball towns, like New York and Chicago.
What? You don’t care? Ya, frankly I do not care either. However, I was entertained by the media storm and hoopla that surrounded the story. The announcement game via an infomercial on ESPN called “The Decision”, hosted by Jim Gray. It was pathetic, shameful television. I am proud to say I did not watch it.
For some reason, I grabbed on to “I’m going to take my talents to South Beach”. It just comes off as extremely arrogant to me. Maybe it’s just me, but I am entertained to the point that I cannot get it out of my head.
So now, whenever exit a room I will say “I am going to take my talents to South Beach.”
What are your thoughts?
