In a continuing move to become more integrated in local business, Google introduces AdWords Express. Over the past year Google introduced Offers Places, after a failed attempt at purchasing Groupon, revamped Google Places, and added more local extensions to AdWords. Now, Google allows small businesses quick entry into the paid search market.
AdWords Express was introduced as Google Boost in 2010. As stated in the original announcement:
“Today, we’re announcing the availability of a new online advertising solution to help local businesses connect with potential customers in their area. Boost enables business owners to easily create online search ads from directly within their Google Places account “
The simplicity of AdWords Express will allow the less-technically savvy local businesses to get access to search ad space and blue pins on Google Maps. This new AdWords campaign is managed and optimized by Google. Like traditional AdWords, a business only has to pay when an ad is clicked.
Google put together a fun video that ultimately does not answer any questions about AdWords Express, but still worth a watch.
